The total investment is 21.4 billion yuan! Changchun Yushu Green Methanol Project Signed Contract to Support the 'Dual Carbon' Goal

On August 12, 2025, the centralized signing meeting for the cooperation units of the green electricity coupled biomass green methanol project in Yushu City, Changchun was held at the China Hotel in Beijing. This conference is hosted by Jilin Huajin Energy Co., Ltd. and co organized by Huaneng New Energy Liaoning Branch, China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau, China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau, etc. It attracted 27 units including Yushu Municipal Government, energy enterprises, national think tanks, overseas partners, and embassy representatives to witness the important moment of the development of the green methanol industry together.

 

 

At the signing ceremony, Wang Benzheng, Chairman of Huajin Energy, stated that the project is a key layout in response to the "dual carbon" strategy and promoting energy transformation, and will contribute Chinese solutions to global carbon reduction. Zhang Longbiao, Deputy Mayor of Yushu City, emphasized that the project is of great significance to the regional economy and ecological protection, and the government will fully support it.

 

Representatives from 12 cooperative units, including Huaneng New Energy, China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau, and Iceland Carbon Recycling International CRI, exchanged ideas and reached consensus on topics such as technological innovation, industrial chain collaboration, and international market expansion. The attending guests also watched the Yushu promotional video to gain a deeper understanding of the local resource advantages.

 

The project is located in Wukeshu Town, Yushu City, with a planned total investment of 21.4 billion yuan. It is positioned as a leading comprehensive demonstration base for green methanol in China. It adopts a dual path process of "green electricity+biomass" to achieve "negative carbon production" and "zero carbon emissions". The first phase of the project plans to install 800000 kilowatts of wind power, 96000 Nm ³/h hydrogen production station, and an annual production capacity of 270000 tons of methanol, with an expected annual reduction of 410000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
