China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation promotes green shipping, with multiple project signings and plan releases attracting attention

On December 2nd, during the China International Maritime Exhibition, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, signed an important cooperation agreement with Southwest Shipping to jointly build two ultra large liquid hydrogen transport ships and actively promote the development of green hydrogen energy shipping.

At the signing ceremony, Xu Peng, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, stated that China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation will continue to enhance its comprehensive capabilities, coordinate high-quality resources, and provide better products and services for the industry and partners. We look forward to all parties leveraging their strengths, deepening strategic alignment, collaborative innovation, building an open and integrated industrial ecosystem, strengthening talent exchange and cooperation, accelerating cooperation implementation, jointly building cooperation mechanisms, and working together to promote the healthy development of the industry.

In addition, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation has signed two letters of intent for the 210000 ton bulk cargo ship project with Intercontinental Shipping. It is worth mentioning that in April 2024, the 708 Research Institute under China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) released design proposals for 180000 cubic meter and 20000 cubic meter liquid hydrogen transport ships. The 20000 cubic meter liquefied hydrogen transport ship has obtained the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) principle recognition (AiP) certificate, demonstrating CSIC's innovative strength and technological breakthroughs in the field of green shipping.
