CN Energy Enters Electrolyzer Arena: Nation's Largest Solar-Hydrogen-Storage Project Launches, Unlocking a Full Green Hydrogen Chain

Release time:

Jun 12,2026

On June 10, the nation's largest-scale solar-hydrogen-storage integrated project – the Rudong "Solar-Hydrogen-Storage" Integration Project of CHN Energy’s Guohua Investment Jiangsu Branch – was fully completed and officially initiated a coordinated "source-grid-load-storage-hydrogen" operation model.

Located in Rudong Yangkou Port, Jiangsu Province, the project is a key national third-phase large-scale photovoltaic (PV) base. It has a total installed capacity of 400 MW, integrating a 400 MW PV power station, a 60 MW/120 MWh energy storage station, and a 1,500 Nm³/h green hydrogen production unit. The PV station generates 468 million kWh annually, meeting the yearly electricity demand of nearly 200,000 households and reducing CO₂ emissions by over 300,000 tons per year. The supporting storage station effectively stabilizes grid output fluctuations and enhances renewable energy integration. The hydrogen production unit yields 482 tons of high‑purity green hydrogen per year, which is supplied to the Yangtze River Delta region; a supporting hydrogen refueling station has also been commissioned, achieving a zero‑carbon closed loop of "green power generation – storage – conversion – application".

It is noted that the hydrogen station part of the project was filed for record in February 2025, while the PV station was grid‑connected in January 2025 – making it the first comprehensive energy project in China combining PV power generation, hydrogen production/refueling, and energy storage. The hydrogen production section was EPC‑contracted by China National Chemical Engineering No. 11 Construction Co., Ltd., with the electrolyzer supplied by Zhongtian Huayang Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. Zhongtian Huayang, founded in August 2022 and based in Rudong, Jiangsu, is a joint venture of Zhongtian Technology Group (51%), CHN Energy Hydrogen Energy Company (24.11%), and Beijing Low‑Carbon Clean Energy Research Institute (24.89%). The company specializes in R&D and production of hydrogen equipment such as hydrogen dispensers and electrolyzers.
