The "Joint Action Plan for Building China's Hydrogen Energy High Speed"was released on December 1, 2023 at the opening ceremony of the first China Fuel Cell Vehicle Conference.
This initiative proposes four important contents: "policy guidance, scenario leading, innovation driven, and collaborative cohesion", aiming to accelerate the construction of a hydrogen energy high-speed network based on the five demonstration city clusters of Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Shanghai, Guangdong, Henan, and Hebei. By connecting the "Hydrogen High Speed" and building a "Hydrogen Corridor", a comprehensive, large-scale, and influential benchmark hydrogen transportation demonstration project will be formed.
Since 2020, the Chinese government has initiated fuel cell vehicle demonstration work in five urban agglomerations, including the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. These urban agglomerations have achieved significant results within two years, achieving innovation and industrial application of seven core components, promoting a large number of fuel cell vehicles, and forming rich application scenarios. Especially in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, due to the developed material circulation system, the construction of cross regional hydrogen energy highways is an important way to achieve pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the freight industry of the region.
Wan Gang, chairman of the China Association for science and technology, believes that the fuel cell vehicle demonstration is an opportunity, which can not only promote the innovation of core technologies, but also form a benchmark hydrogen energy transportation demonstration project.
With the release of the new initiative, the Beijing Tianjin Hebei demonstration city cluster launched seven hydrogen energy high-speed scenarios to promote the core technology innovation of hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicles. These scenarios include vehicle transportation, automobile parts transportation, foreign trade container transportation, household goods transportation, sand and stone transportation, production raw materials transportation and tempering transportation.
Beijing municipal government has played a leading role in promoting the construction of Beijing Tianjin Hebei fuel cell vehicle demonstration city, and has made phased progress in the promotion mode, technological innovation, energy security and other fields. In the future, Beijing plans to continue to strengthen the scenario driven, improve the production, storage, transportation and processing of hydrogen energy, and promote the formation of a stable, flexible and low-cost hydrogen energy supply system.
