Recently, at the China Pavilion of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, a side event titled "Exhausting All Possibilities of Hydrogen, Perceiving the Future of Carbon - Narrating China's 'Dual Carbon' Story" was held on a grand scale.
The conference was hosted by the China Energy Conservation Association and organized by the Hydrogen Energy Professional Committee of the China Energy Conservation Association. It attracted experts and representatives from relevant domestic and international fields such as the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, the German Agency for International Cooperation, the Danish Energy Agency, and the China Energy Research Society.
Lv Wenbin, the Director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, attended the meeting and delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of hydrogen energy and its role in the future energy system. He pointed out that hydrogen energy has become a focus of attention for major countries and regions around the world, and China is also actively participating in the development of hydrogen energy. Hydrogen energy will become an important component of the future energy system, a key carrier for achieving green and low-carbon transformation at the energy consumption terminal, and a key direction for the development of strategic emerging industries and future industries.
This side event was an important discussion and exchange on the role of hydrogen energy in achieving the dual carbon goals, promoting international attention and recognition of hydrogen energy. At the same time, it told the world China's "dual carbon" story of actively responding to climate change, contributing to the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry, and achieving multiple wins in environmental, climate, and economic benefits. It also contributed Chinese wisdom to jointly addressing climate change challenges and building a clean and beautiful world.
