Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a symposium to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and comprehensively promote green and low-carbon industrial development. The meeting emphasized the need to steadily advance carbon emission reduction in the industrial sector, accelerate the construction of a green manufacturing and service system, promote industrial energy conservation, efficiency improvement, and efficient resource conservation and utilization, actively create green consumption scenarios, and strengthen external communication and international cooperation.
The meeting pointed out that comprehensively promoting green and low-carbon industrial development is a strategic requirement for implementing the new development concept and an integral part of achieving high-quality development. Xie Yuansheng, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Representatives from the industrial and information technology authorities of Hebei, Jiangsu, Fujian, Shandong, and Chongqing, as well as the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, made exchange speeches.
The meeting emphasized the need to coordinate the promotion of carbon peaking in the industrial sector and key industries, vigorously develop green and low-carbon industries, and promote the green upgrading of traditional industries. It is necessary to deeply implement green manufacturing projects, strengthen the construction of green and low-carbon standard systems, and actively create green consumption scenarios. It is also necessary to accelerate the promotion of industrial energy conservation and efficiency improvement, build a clean, efficient, and low-carbon industrial energy consumption structure, deeply promote energy efficiency improvement in key industry sectors, and improve the industrial energy conservation management system.
The meeting also pointed out the need to comprehensively promote efficient resource conservation and utilization, accelerate the construction of a resource recycling system, and focus on improving the level of industrial solid waste reduction and resource utilization. It is necessary to promote the standardized development of the comprehensive utilization industry of renewable resources, improve the comprehensive utilization system of emerging solid waste, and actively develop the remanufacturing of mechanical and electrical products. It is also necessary to strengthen external communication, carry out training and exchanges in areas such as green manufacturing, and continuously deepen international cooperation in green and low-carbon fields.
The heads of the industrial and information technology authorities and communication administrations of various provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as relevant units affiliated to the ministry, relevant departments of the ministry, and relevant industry associations, attended the meeting at the main venue and various branch venues.
The convening of this symposium marks that China's industrial and information technology sector will further accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation, contributing to the achievement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
