Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia, launched a 18.9 billion green hydrogen and green ammonia integration project

Release time:

Jul 04,2024

On July 1, Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia welcomed the start of major energy projects. The wind, wind, solar, hydrogen and ammonia integrated demonstration project with a total investment of 18.9 billion yuan was officially started. The project aims to produce an annual output of 90,000 tons of green hydrogen and 500,000 tons of green ammonia., marking Inner Mongolia has taken solid steps in the transformation of green energy.

This project innovatively combines the two major links of wind and solar hydrogen production and green ammonia synthesis. Among them, the wind and solar hydrogen production section will build wind farms and photovoltaic power stations with a total installed capacity of 2.4 million kilowatts. It will use advanced ALK alkaline liquid water electrolysis technology to produce hydrogen efficiently, and use cryogenic technology to separate air to produce nitrogen, providing key raw materials for subsequent green ammonia synthesis. The green ammonia synthesis project has an investment of 1.8 billion yuan, making full use of the green power generated by the upstream wind and scenery station, and its annual output is expected to reach 500,000 tons.

After the project is fully put into operation, the annual power generation is expected to reach 6.3 billion kilowatt hours, equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 1.339 million tons and significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6.3278 million tons, which is of great significance to promoting green and low-carbon development in the region and even the country.
