On August 29, the State Council Information Office officially released the white paper "China's Energy Transformation", which comprehensively elaborated on China's energy transformation path under the guidance of the new energy security strategy of "Four Revolutions, One Cooperation". The white paper details China's practical results and future plans for promoting new green energy consumption models, building a new energy system, developing new energy productivity, and modernizing energy governance.
In the field of hydrogen energy, highlights in the white paper appear frequently. As of the end of 2023, China has built a total of nearly 8.6 million charging infrastructures and more than 450 hydrogen refueling stations, marking that the charging and hydrogen refueling network is gradually improving. In order to promote the electrification and low-carbonization of end-use energy, the white paper specifically mentioned that the industrial sector is actively promoting the substitution of electric energy, such as high-temperature heat pumps, electric heating and other technologies, and encourages the demonstration application of hydrogen production from renewable energy in the chemical and metallurgical fields to promote green transformation of the industry.
In addition, the white paper also emphasizes the importance of green transformation and development of oil and gas, and explores the feasibility of hydrogen energy pipeline transportation.
