The National Energy Administration launches a 254 million hydrogen energy technology project, focusing on green production and efficient utilization

The National Energy Administration recently officially launched the 2024 annual project application for the key special project of "Hydrogen Energy Technology", marking that my country's research and development and application in the field of hydrogen energy has entered a new stage. This special project focuses on the three technical directions of green production of hydrogen energy, safe storage and rapid transmission and distribution, convenient upgrading and efficient power, and aims to promote the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry through technological innovation.
According to the issued application guidelines, the special plan launches 13 specific tasks and allocates up to 254 million yuan in state-allocated funds to support the research and development and demonstration application of key technologies. It is particularly worth mentioning that the special project also has a special task for young scientists, with a planned investment of 3 million yuan to encourage young scientific research talents to participate in the exploration of hydrogen energy.
In terms of green production of hydrogen energy, the project will study key technologies such as efficient coupling of wind power/photovoltaic hydrogen production and chemical processes, and a floating offshore electrolyzed water hydrogen production test platform to promote green and large-scale hydrogen production. At the same time, for the safe storage and rapid transmission and distribution of hydrogen energy, the project will explore integrated technology for liquid hydrogen storage, supply and addition, key technologies for high-pressure hydrogen cylinders and the safety of geological hydrogen storage warehouses to ensure the safety and reliability of hydrogen energy applications.
In addition, the research and development of convenient upgrading of hydrogen energy and efficient power systems is also one of the focuses of this special project, including multi-dimensional parameter monitoring and regulation of fuel cell systems, zero-carbon clean combustion technology for industrial ammonia, etc., which will effectively promote the use of hydrogen energy in transportation, industrial production and other fields.
