On October 28, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized at relevant meetings that it is necessary to scientifically plan and build a new energy system to promote the complementary development of multiple energy sources such as water, wind, light, hydrogen, and natural gas. This strategic deployment was systematically elaborated at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, marking that my country's new energy construction has entered a new stage of development.
At present, my country's new energy supply capacity has been significantly enhanced. The total installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power has reached 1.25 billion kilowatts. The goal of reaching the total installed capacity of wind power and solar power generation of more than 1.2 billion kilowatts in 2030 has been achieved six years ahead of schedule. In the southeastern coast and the Taklimakan Desert and other places, a number of major clean energy projects are being fully advanced, demonstrating the vigorous vitality of my country's new energy construction.
In order to accelerate the construction of a new energy system, my country has introduced a series of reform measures, including the "Opinions on Accelerating the Comprehensive Green Transformation of Economic and Social Development", which has clarified the path for the development of clean energy. At the same time, my country is accelerating the construction of clean energy bases such as northwest wind power and photovoltaics, southwest hydropower, offshore wind power, and coastal nuclear power to enhance clean energy supply capabilities.
In terms of ensuring the delivery and good use of new energy, my country has started construction of a number of UHV projects this year and accelerated the upgrading of the distribution network. By the end of 2025, the distribution network will have about 500 million kilowatts of distributed new energy access capabilities. In addition, in response to the unstable problem of wind and photovoltaic power generation, my country is accelerating the construction of energy storage and developing a new energy panoramic prediction system to accurately dispatch the output of new energy and thermal power generation through intelligent algorithms.
Today, my country has established an energy supply system with comprehensive development of clean energy and traditional energy, providing a safe and reliable energy guarantee for China's modernization drive.
