Hydrogen energy full industry chain selected as key direction for industry standard project approval by the Energy Bureau in 2025

On March 10th, the National Energy Administration officially released the "Guidelines for the Establishment of Energy Industry Standard Plans in 2025" on its official website, clarifying the key directions for the establishment of energy industry standard plans in the new year. Among them, hydrogen energy and new energy storage are classified together and have become the focus of attention.
The Guidelines point out that in order to deeply analyze the new situation and requirements of energy development and reform, and closely focus on ensuring energy security and green low-carbon transformation, the development of new energy technologies, industries, and formats will be promoted, and key areas and technical requirements will be highlighted. In the field of hydrogen energy, the entire industry chain of hydrogen energy applications, including basic and general applications, hydrogen preparation, hydrogen storage and transportation, hydrogen refueling, fuel cells, etc., are all listed as key directions.
In recent years, the hydrogen energy industry has entered a stage of rapid development, but problems such as outdated industry standards, incomplete systems, and inconsistent standards in various regions have been hindering the healthy development of the industry. During this year's Two Sessions, several representatives put forward suggestions on the issue of hydrogen energy industry standards. The selection of the entire hydrogen energy industry chain as a key direction for the Energy Bureau's 2025 industry standard project undoubtedly provides strong support for accelerating the resolution of these issues.
It is worth mentioning that the Energy Bureau has been accelerating the revision of standards for the hydrogen energy industry since 2024. Last August, the Comprehensive Department of the National Energy Administration issued relevant notices, including 18 items related to hydrogen energy; In December, a notice was issued to supplement the proposed revision plan for industry standards, including five projects related to hydrogen energy.
